If you live in a large home and are struggling with a weak broadband signal, we have put together a list of ten ways to improve your broadband speed here.
Here is a recap to help improve your Wi-Fi signal's reach.
- Change the wireless channels on your Wi-Fi router
- Ensure the router is well-positioned and nothing is covering it
If the router is not the issue, you can purchase hardware to help extend the signal.
Wireless extender: This is a great budget-friendly option. Simply plug it in where the signal is weakest and it will help repeat the Wi-Fi signal.
Power line adapters: This mid-range priced option plugs into your modem via an Ethernet cable and then plugs into the wall. Since it is customarily sold in pairs, plug the second unit in the room where there is little to no signal. We recommend power line adapters because they reduce interference better than wireless extenders.
Wireless Mesh Network: This is the top of the line, but the best at guaranteeing a strong signal throughout the house. The mesh network distributes a series of nodes throughout the house, with the main node connected to the modem/router.
